[edit]Feminine of کُکَّڑ (kukkaṛ, “cock; rooster”), inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀼𑀟𑀻 (kukkuḍī), from Sanskrit कुक्कुटी (kukkuṭī). Compare Kashmiri کۄکٕر (kọkụr) and Assamese কুকুৰা (kukura).
