أَكَبَّ (ʔakabba) IV (non-past يُكِبُّ (yukibbu), verbal noun إِكْبَاب (ʔikbāb))

  1. (intransitive) to throw oneself prostrate, to bow down, to bend or lean [with عَلَى (ʕalā) ‘over’]
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 67:22:
      أَفَمَن يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ أَهْدَىٰ أَمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ
      ʔafaman yamšī mukibban ʕalā wajhihi ʔahdā ʔam man yamšī sawiyyan ʕalā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin
