Etymology[edit]
Compare to equivalent conjunctions/determiners with similar functions: Tatar әллә (ällä), Kazakh әлде (älde), Kyrgyz алда (alda); also a component in indefinite pronouns: Uzbek allakim (“somebody”), Uyghur ئەللىكىم (ellikim, “somebody”).
