Bulgarian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Slavic *kurъka; equivalent to кур (kur, “rooster”) (obsolescent) + -ка (-ka). Cognate with Macedonian ќурка (ḱurka, “turkey”), Serbo-Croatian ħу̏рка (“turkey”). Further loaned into Romanian curcă (“turkey hen”).
