Etymology
[edit]From Byzantine Greek βραδύ (bradú), from Ancient Greek βραδύς (bradús, “slow”), due to it being the last part of the day and for it seeming to be the longest wait for it to arrive (compare the similar semantic development of Spanish tarde).
