Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ἀναπόσβεστος (anapósbestos, inextinguishable). By surface analysis, αν- (an-, privative) +‎ αποσβεσ- (aposves-, to erase, amortize) +‎ -τος (-tos), from ἀποσβέννῡμι (aposbénnūmi, to extinguish).
