  1. (anatomy) ear (organ of hearing)
  2. handle (grip of a basket, kettle etc.)
  3. ear, earflap (part of a hat that covers one's ears)
  4. transverse handle on the drawbar of a hand truck
  5. eye (hole in needle)
  6. iron ring at the bottom of an axle bar, placed on the end of the wheel axle
  7. key eye
