- 1793, W. Hunter, C. Wolf, A. Eschelskroon, Description du Pégu et de l'isle de Ceylan[1], page 31:
- Le vaisseau que je montois ayant été totalement désemparé, il fallut entrer dans la rivière de Syriam pour le remâter.
- The ship that I boarded having been totally disabled, it was necessary to enter the Syriam river to remast it.
- 1929, Marcel Prévost, Joseph Bédier, Raymond Recouly, La Revue de France[2], page 376:
- Il remâtera ses vaisseaux avec les mâtures des frégates, ses frégates avec les mâtures des transports, et ceux-ci, à leur tour, avec des agrès de fortune.
- He will remast his ships with the masts of the frigates, his frigates with the masts of the transporters, and these, in turn, with makeshift gear.
