- (transitive, signal processing) To equalize badly.

- At one time, U.S. Decca listed a large number of these performances, pressed on less than the best material, often misequalized, sometimes off pitch.
- 1981, The Absolute Sound - Volume 6, Issues 21-24, page 73:
- The most common symptom of incorrect equalization (assuming good associated equipment) is a bright, hard, elevated roughness of response above approximately 2 kHz. I think all of us have heard systems misequalized that way.
