[edit]From Middle Dutch invoeren, invueren, from Old Dutch *infuoren, from Proto-West Germanic *infōrijan, equivalent to in- + voeren. Cognate with German Low German inföhren, German einführen, West Frisian ynfiere, Old English infēran (“to enter”).
