great- grandparent (plural great-grandparents )
A parent of a grandparent ; a grandparent of a parent.
Additional instances of "great-" can be prepended to the term, each indicating one further generation of ancestry. For large numbers of generations a number can be substituted, for example, "fourth great-grandparent", "four-greats grandparent" or "four-times-great-grandparent".
