draft up (third-person singular simple present drafts up, present participle drafting up, simple past and past participle drafted up)

  1. (transitive) to write a draft of a document, plan, legislation or budget, usually a first draft.
    I drafted up the original complaint, so I'll take a look at your notes.
  2. (transitive) To be advanced to a higher league, team or institution.
    He was a freshman who could be drafted up to the varsity team.
