Orthography

Akkala Sami has no standard orthography. The orthography used within Wiktionary is based on Kildin Sami orthography with a few influences from the Skolt Sami orthography. The Cyrillic script is chosen to make further language work easier: if someone in the future will decide to make a dictionary for Akkala Sami, it will most likely be in Cyrillic, due to Russia's languages policy whereby the language must use the Cyrillic script to be official. There is a list of phoneme/glyph correspondence:
