WT:PREFS has now been decommissioned. The JavaScript code that used to power it is available at User:Hippietrail/custom.js.

Preferences that change the display of the interface.

Preferences that change the display of entries. [May only work with the Monobook skin]

The preferences marked with 🤔 change the way Wiktionary entry content is displayed. There may be a case for preserving WT:PREFS in a reduced form if the preferences marked with 🤔 are widely used and relied upon - it would be preferable not to flood the gadgets list with all these possible options. However, if only one or two are in wide use, those could very well be converted to gadgets. I have seen no evidence that anyone is using the settings marked with 🤔 and have consequently removed them

Preferences relating to navigation and editing.

Experiments – these are likely to be buggy and may not work in very common browsers.

Note, contrary to the heading, those that are totally broken have been removed. Those that remain are functional to at least a basic level.

  True, however, the tool sadly does not work. I'm not personally willing to go further than maintaining like-for-like - I don't intend to spend time repairing broken scripts, but others might be. This, that and the other (talk) 21:53, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

• ❌ Enable Experimental Translator's Extension. This works, but I'm not quite sure what it is supposed to do. Maybe remove. Removed from WT:PREFS
