The numbers of speakers are extremely loose, and many are likely significantly inaccurate; complete data do not exist in most cases. They are simply a guide to how well the most spoken Bantu languages are represented on Wiktionary. Most of them badly need basic template infrastructure, tailored to that language's specific needs, and should have a minimum of 1000 lemmas. Languages with an asterisk have more than one principal standard, which complicates creating entries.
