The pronunciation given (/əˌfoː(ɹ)ˈmɛn.ʃənd/) is the only one I have seen in dictionaries. In recent years I have heard the pronunciation "/ˌæ.fə(ɹ)ˈmɛn.ʃənd/" from several people. Any idea when that came into use? Kostaki mou (talk) 00:37, 22 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I found a quote to verify the affermentioned pronunciation in the movie Set It Up at minute 9:40 or so: "You know that pickle? That affermentioned pickle? That wasn't for my boss, that was for me!" — Eru·tuon 10:04, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Haha. I'm just watching that film. This is what brought me here. Nevermind.
I feel like every single WhatCulture Horror video on YouTube has the word "aforementioned" in it at least once, and every single speaker pronounces it "affermentioned". This is my new pet peeve. —Mahāgaja · talk 08:54, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

It can also occur before a cardinal as in the aforementioned two papers instead of the two aforementioned papers

[edit]

could somebody add a brief note on why that is unusual and worth mentioning? --Backinstadiums (talk) 12:25, 26 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

It seems to me most adjectives can't do that. *the yellow two buses, *the big two chairs. —Granger (talk · contribs) 18:41, 26 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Page Vandalized

[edit]

I have noticed that this Wiktionary page has been vandalized. I stumbled upon when there is some text in the Pronunciation content that breaks the US section which appears to be obnoxiously linked with a video from some pornography site, reading:

"Remove Ads

[vulgar text removed]

6.9k 2min 1080p

Mistressˈæfɚˌmɛn.ʃənd/|qual2=nonstandard}}"

The user 45.64.227.86 made this edit recently on January 12nd, 2023 at 00:10 UTC, which I promptly undone after I saw it at 06:08. With this now removed, I will undo any edits on this article, or any other article should I encounter vandalized content in them. Vandalism (Or "Vandalization" as I said in my revision) is not for Wiktionary, and should be resolved if encountered. Anyway, when you are monitoring and/or a creator of any article, watch out for any users that seek for vandalism. I suggest that this user be blocked due to adding said content.

Good find, thank you for reverting this! I think the revision (and text above) should be deleted from the page history too. @Surjection. 70.172.194.25 07:16, 12 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
