I'd be perfectly happy to get rid of the "automatic" linking. The only circumstance in which automatic linking saves keystrokes and gives desired results is when parameter 4 is a vernacular name for which Wiktionary has an entry. Many taxa do not have a vernacular name. Remember, too that the vernacular name is often as obscure as the taxon name, so more content is required to make the definition line useful. For most of our better taxonomic entries, there is more content than the bare "vernacular" name. DCDuring (talk) 12:13, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
