more than one word?

the etymology doesn't seem to fit the definition, i added a definition to the etymology to clarify a bit, but possibly the word needs another definition for the meaning of the words itself? Irtapil (talk) 13:24, 17 November 2022 (UTC)

@Fay Frea: That doesn't seem to answer the question?

Something is missing or mismatched? I'm familiar with the meaning of Lakh as "100,000" in Hindi, Urdu, and Indian English, and that seems to be the word in the Etymology? but that doesn't seem to fit with the definition given for لك in this entry?

• if they do match possibly this page needs a bit of background info added to explain the history of the connection?
• if it is from an alternate meaning of Lakh maybe that should be included in this page?
• I was also maybe wondering if those two characters لك represent two completely different words? one from Sanskrit and one from Arabic? maybe with different unwritten vowels? and the definition is from the Arabic word?

@Irtapil: It’s a word that you are probably not familiar with, that’s what I was indicating; not meaning 100,000 but a homonym matching the meaning of this Arabic page. I have linked you an Urdu dictionary as an example of a sense you don’t know; you can [dsal.uchicago.edu/dictionaries/ check other dictionaries of the languages of India].
