Masculine words ending in -e tend to be either ja-stems or an-stems in Middle Dutch. But are you sure it's masculine? The Middle Dutch dictionaries I can find all say that this is a feminine word (or at least the wi- form is) and I doubt that a change in the stem vowel would have somehow survived as a different gender, especially because it was so rare. —CodeCat 14:26, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
