[edit]Possibly from Proto-Indo-Iranian *kawpʰas, from Proto-Indo-European *kowpéh₂-s ~ *kowph₂-és, from *kowp-éh₂ (“hump”), from *kew-p-, from *kew- (“bend”).[1] Cognate with Kamkata-viri kū, Prasuni kū (“hump”).
