I dont know how other folks's browsers display it, but for me the plainlinks class doesnt work in IE or Opera (my versions anyway, IE 6 and Opera 7.5), so something like this needs to be added to the site style:

#bodyContent .plainlinks a {
    background: none !important;
    padding: 0;
}

The main Monobook stylesheet [1] doesn't include the !important ...thus for some reason it seems to be ignored. (Maybe there's a better kind of fix, but being relatively unfamiliar with the site's CSS I don't know it offhand.) Fixing this greatly reduces the icon salad on Main Page and Quick index where internal index pages have to be reached by full "external" links. —Muke Tever 21:27, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)

The "random-position-for-the-show-hide-thinggy" is nasty. Who's idea was that? --Connel MacKenzie 07:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It was discussed at Wiktionary:Beer parlour#Translation bars and at Wiktionary:Grease pit#Technicalities of "show" and "edit" tags. You are welcome to join in the discussions, or to have already unilaterally reverted the change without discussing. Either way. :-P   —RuakhTALK 01:41, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
