Description
English: "Blue-skinned Varuna, the dikpala. He is shown riding on his makara vahana and is depicted four-armed with a lasso in each of the two upper hands; the lower ones are held in abhayamudra (his right) and varadamudra (left). In front of him walks an attendant with a club while behind is shown another attendant holding a parasol high above the god's head. Some suggestion of persective is given by the sketched in foreground. On laid European paper watermarked with a fleur de lys."
