Summary
| Description |
English: The kyūjitai kanji letter 櫻 (sakura), a detail of the inscription of the “Sumida-dzutsumi ōka-wo-daisu” stele engraved by master stonemason Kubo Seishō in 1829. The inscription is a shichigon-zekku verse by Kameda Hōsai praising the cherry blossom trees along the banks of the Sumida River, written in 1820 for local landowner Sakata Sanshichirō. Originally installed by the river, the stele was relocated to the grounds of Mokubo-ji Temple at some point between 1897 and 1906.
