Notes | Small back pack used by Lt. Colonel Percival Clennell Fenwick, NZ Medical Corps, WW1 (possibly also Anglo Boer War) Percy Fenwick served during the Anglo Boer War as Surgeon Captain, 2nd NZ Mounted Rifles. In 1914 he received a commission as Lt. Colonel NZ Medical Corps (service no 13-118) was Officer Commanding No 1 and No 3 NZ General Hospitals and Deputy Assistant Director of Medical Services Headquarters, New Zealand and Australian Division. Fenwick was awarded the CMG "For valuable services rendered in connection with the war. (Gallipoli)" (London Gazette 3 June 1916 p5560). He also received an M.I.D. clasp "In connection with administration in Egypt." He was subsequently based in England (1916-1919). From 1919 to 1923 he was Assistant Director Medical Services. Post war he was ADC to HE Sir CE Fergusson and from 1924 consulting surgeon at Christchurch Hospital. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
