An adult female northern muriqui (woolly spider monkey), Brachyteles hypoxanthus, in the Atlantic Forest, Brazil. Original description: "This adult female represents what is currently recognized one of the two species in the genus Brachyteles. It ranges in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo in southeast Brazil. Brachyteles hypoxanthus, muriqui-do-norte, northern muriqui, wooly spider monkey" This photo was taken in Caratinga, Minas Gerais, using a Nikon D60.
