The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac. The unique to Buick, 'Ventiports' were introduced in 1949, four on the top Roadmaster and three on the other models. The 56 Buick had a fine horizontal bar grille, 'Veed' in the centre. The 1957 Buick got an even more panoramic windshield equipped with reverse slanted pillars, at the front, the bumper bullets were pushed to the very outside, the grille with fine convex vertical bars The 1957 122 inch wheelbase Series 40 Special, with 250hp 364 cu in, was available in 2 or 4 door Sedan, Convertible, Pillared Wagon, Hardtop Wagon and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop. The 127 inch wheelbase Series 50 Super, 300hp 364 cu in, available in Convertible and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop The 122 inch wheelbase Series 60 Century, 300hp 364 cu in, available in Convertible, 4 door Sedan, Hardtop Wagon and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop. The 127 inch wheelbase Series 70 Roadmaster, 300hp 364 cu in, available in Convertible and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop (upmarket Series 75 Roadmaster Riviera in 2 or 4 door Hardtop) |
