- Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowships. These fellowships of 6 to 12 months are offered in order to pursue advanced academic research projects at a German university or research institute. Fields of research and citizenship are unrestricted. Amount of stipend: âForschungsstipendiumâ DM 1600.-monthly, âDozentenstipendiumâ DM 1900.-monthly; supplementary family allowances, travel expenses. An extension of the original award period is possible. Applicants should furnish proof of independent teaching experience at university level or research work (of at least two years if interested in a âForschungsstipendiumâ and at least five years if interested in a âDozentenstipendiumâ). They should hold a Ph.D., have sufficient knowledge of German and, as a rule, not be older than 38. Applicants for a âDozentenstipendiumâ should have outstanding academic publications to their credit.
