The Harry Potter series comprises seven books written by British author J. K. Rowling in 1997–2007 that tell the story of a fictional culture of people with magical abilities, such as the title character. The franchise also includes related products, including movies, spin-off books, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and video games.
