1. A common variant of the digit 0, used to keep it distinct from the letter O.
2. A common hack for the empty-set symbol ∅, typeset by overstriking a 0 with a solidus ⟨◌̸⟩.

Usage notes

Unicode encodes this glyph as a standardized variant of the normal 0 followed by Variation Selector 1 (U+FE00). In HTML 0︀ produces a slashed zero, 0︀.

Not to be confused with ∅ (empty set) nor $\emptyset$ (empty set, Variation Selector 1).
