[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kutlug (“fortunate, blessed”) equivalent to 𐰴𐰆𐱃 (qut, “luck, fortune”) + 𐰞𐰆𐰍 (-luɣ). Cognate with Turkish kutlu (“happy, blessed”).
