[edit]- For the modern city name of 서울 (Seoul, “Seoul”), there is no hanja spelling in Korean. However, the 漢城／汉城 (Hànchéng) spelling is used in modern Chinese to refer to the modern city.
- 首爾／首尔 (Shǒu'ěr) is a Chinese transliteration for the Korean capital 서울 (Seoul, “Seoul”). However, this spelling is not used in Korean.
