Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (moŋ "brother of a woman"), while Luce adduces no cognates.^[1] Related to Old Chinese 孟 (OC *mraːŋs, “eldest brother”) somehow? Perhaps the differing vowel shifts meaning from "older" to "younger"?”
