[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀡𑀺𑀤𑁆𑀤𑀭 (*ṇiddara), from Sanskrit निद्रा (nidrā́), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *HnidráH, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁ni-drm̥-éh₂. Doublet of નીદ્રા (nīdrā). Cognate with Gojri نِیندرو (nīndro), Marwari निंदरा (nindrā), Punjabi نِینْدَر / ਨੀਂਦਰ (nīndar), and Saraiki نِیݨْدر (nīṇdr).
