[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *buŕ- / *boŕ- (“to damage, destroy”);[1] cognate with Azerbaijani pozmaq, Bashkir боҙоу (boźow), Chuvash пӑс (păs), Kazakh бұзу (būzu), Kyrgyz бузуу (buzuu) and Uzbek buzmoq.
