- (IPA) murmured phonation, breathy voice.
- (ALA-LC) used with the letter ⟨z̤⟩ to transcribe Persian ⟨ض⟩.
- (Teuthonista) extra close/high articulation, doubling of ⟨◌̣⟩.
- (UPA) uvular (e.g. plosive k̤, trill r̤, approximant ɹ̤, flap ð̤).
Usage notes
[edit](IPA): Sometimes this diacritic is used for vowels and other sonorants, while the spacing diacritic ⟨ʱ⟩ is used for obstruents – e.g. ⟨m̤⟩ vs ⟨bʱ⟩, though either diacritic may be used for any segment.
